Our Daily Training Regimen

If you've been following us since the beginning you'll know that we got all of the steps completed to get us into the Amazing Digi-scrap Race -Season 5 (ADSR5). All we were left with this week was the being patient part. Neither of us is any good at that, so we came up with a training regimen to keep us busy this week.

We start by getting up in the morning. This is a pretty amazing feat since we stay up so late scrapping. Next we make some coffee. Bonnie drinks hers, I just smell mine since I don't like the taste of coffee. Then we turn on our computers and sit down. Since being able to sit for long periods of time while working on a layout is a VERY important part of digital scrapbooking, this is what we spend most of our training time on.

We follow the sitting with some warm-up exercises. We do 3 sets of 5 reps of each of these activities: click, drag, scroll, then copy, paste, and scroll. Finally, we spend a little more time staring at the computer screen to get our eyes adjusted for the long hours of scrapping.

Often after our morning training session we have to drive to the grocery store to get more snacks and coffee.

After lunch we quickly get back in front of the computer, we don't want the chair to lose our butt impressions because that just requires more sitting to find that "comfy spot". During our afternoon training session we work on "Almost aerobic" exercises: 3 sets-10 reps each of mouse moves: right to left and up and down and Keyboard Shortcuts: Ctrl-J, Alt-Tab, Ctrl-T are some of our favorites. Later this week we are thinking of adding "circles" and "diagonals" to our Mouse Moves. Next, we spend more time staring at the screen and memorizing our scrapbook kit contents so we will be able to quickly find just the right paper or element to put the finishing touches on every challenge Layout.

We do take some time out of our busy training regimen to make dinner for our families. And Bonnie has begun adjusting her children's bedtimes so that by race day they are in bed right after supper, leaving her more time to complete the challenges.

At our final session in front of computer we spend some time organizing photos and making notes on which photos still need to be scrapped. And then around 11:30 we do some cool-down exercises with just 2 sets-8 reps each of saving our work and closing down programs. Then its off to bed so we can do it all again tomorrow.

And now you know what we mean when we say, "can't talk now, I'm training for the big race."
